From illumination to artists' books
The Sainte-Chapelle
La Sainte-Chapelle, La Chapelle haute, vue sur la Grande châsse et du chœur
In 13th-century France, the relationship between cathedral architecture and manuscript illustration was very close. As a result, the works of art influenced each other. The semiotic analysis in this study focuses on the interartistic relationship between the illustrations influenced by the architectural features of the Sainte-Chapelle, in particular the biblical narrative and the drawings of the church windows in the manuscript of the Psalter of Saint-Louis. We are witnessing interarchitecturality in the field of architecture.

Bulgarian Letters
Българската азбука – кирилица – The Bulgarian alphabet Cyrillic.
The Bulgarian alphabet is sacred, being of Divine perfection, created by St. Cyril and St. Methodius.
Letters are both musical and pictorial signs, hence the interartistic nature of their essence. The Bulgarian alphabet is unique in its kind, and is not copied from any other script. (Guéorguiev, Emile, The two alphabets, Sofia). The gift of the Bulgarian alphabet to other nations that have borrowed the Bulgarian script, which in reality represents the Slavic language, Slavonic being no other but the ancient Bulgarian language that laid the foundations of European Bulgarian culture. Daniela Belitchovska, « The holy brothers translated the Bible into Old Bulgarian. Few of us are aware that the term “Old Slavonic” refers to Old Bulgarian, and not to some non-existent Old Slavonic language. » cf http://danielabel.org/page/11/.

The manor
Lucinges Castle
Lucinges Castle, near Butor’s home, will be transformed into a Book Manor. Annemasse Aglo has purchased Butor’s library, which includes artist’s books, works of art, personalised cards and gifts made by the writer for his wife. An exhibition of one hundred and three artist’s books was organised for the Book Manor. The books were digitised so that they could be viewed. The most recent exhibition took place in December 2021.
