L’interpicturalité dans la sémiotique de l’art, Aracne editrice, Rome, 2019
ISBN: 978-8825521108
The book examines interpicturality as a variety of interartistic phenomenon, a term introduced by Vassiléna Kolarova to the field of intermedial studies, thus deepening the field of semiotic research. Her concept of the interartistic phenomenon differs from intertextuality in that it concerns all the arts. The semiotic analysis focuses on the evolution of interpictoriality in literature, music and artists’ books, a genre in transition. The 20th-century retrospective, dating back to the 12th century, opens the door to iconic arts such as architecture and sculpture. Interpictoriality explains the total work of art, which justifies its function in the semiotics of art.
